Many key users and controllers call them “environments.” Technically, they’re called “scenarios.” We can use them in #FCCS, #PBCS, and #HFM to test major changes without corrupting official data.
Yesterday, we needed to see in real time how balance sheet and profit and loss uploaded with a TXT file rather than an Excel Input Package would look. Well, we created the simulation scenario and we tested here TXT file upload. We took an existing report and we added the column with the simulation scenario to compare it with the official data. Processing time: less than 30 minutes.
Strengths: 1. Quick application change with the new scenario creation; 2. The new scenario is immediately active on all metadata, automatic rules, and reports already existing on the official scenarios; 3. With securities, we can make new scenario available to a few users only.
